About Us
The term biophilia means the love of living things and nature, and was popularized by biologist and writer Edward O. Wilson in his 1984 book of the same name. This book puts forward the biophilia hypothesis, which suggests that humans possess an innate tendency to seek connections with nature and other forms of life. The wide variety of art and writing showcased in Biophilia Magazine, created to celebrate, explore, and mourn the natural world, are evidence in support of this hypothesis.
